»Wirtschaftsadhäsion. Compensation in (German) White-Collar Criminal Proceedings« Disassociating criminal and civil proceedings can make it harder for victims to obtain compensation for their losses. The so-called »Adhäsionsverfahren« (Sections 403 - 406c German Code of Criminal Procedure) enables decisions on civil law damages in criminal proceedings - but it is rarely used. Based on an analysis of »Adhäsionsverfahren« in white-collar criminal proceedings under German and US federal criminal law, this study develops reform proposals for »Adhäsionsverfahren« in Germany.
