With the help of large-format fabrics,Ulla von Brandenburg transforms exhibition spaces into colorful, sensual spaces of experience that bring together impulses from theater, circus, dance, and design. Different materials and genres are combined into a loose story in the sense of a cross-disciplinary Gesamtkunstwerk: objects, films, watercolors, and performances with diverse references to literature and art history, ritual actions and anthropology. The artist herself describes her artistic approach as 'spatial mises-en-scène.'
