Historische Philosophie

In diesem Buch beschreibt und begründet Kurt Flasch seine Denkart und Arbeitsweise. Er nennt sie 'historische Philosophie' und zeigt, wie sie die Trennung von philosophischer Systematik und Philosophiehistorie unterwandert und damit das Problem des 'Historismus' auf neue Weise stellt. Flasch untersucht kritisch Grundbegriffe wie 'Epoche', 'Tradition' und 'Kontinuität' und argumentiert gegen enthistorisierende Aneignungsweisen des Gewesenen, welche die Zeitdifferenz ignorieren oder zum bloß äußeren Umstand herabsetzen. Der Autor konfrontiert anders konzipierte Theorien - z.B. die von Luhmann und Gadamer - mit seiner eigenen historiographischen Erfahrung und gewinnt neue Einsichten in das Verhältnis von Mittelalter, Renaissance und Reformation.
