»The System of Recognition of Judgments in European Civil Procedure Law - Analysing EU Regulations No. 1215/2012 (Brussels Regulation), No. 805/2004 (European Enforcement Order Regulation), No. 1896/2006 (Order for Payment Regulation) and No. 861/2007 (European Small Claims Procedure Regulation) rom the Point of View of German Civil Procedure Law« Recognition of judgments given in Member States of the European Union forms an integral part of the European single market. However recent European regulations focus on the enforcement of judgments and do not take the matter of recognition itself into account. This work systematically analyses the concept of recognition of judgments given in Member States under European civil procedure law. It identifies shortcomings of current provisions regarding recognition and tries to find feasible solutions for them.
